- There is no entrance fee charged for registered tour guides and accredited press representatives.
- Children under 5 years of age are free.
- The park entrance fee doesn’t include the fee for the guided tours or for the mountain bike and walking trails.
Things to do
For the more active visitor, there are invigorating mountain bike trails available (you may bring your own bike or hire one of ours), for hikers we have a lovely nature trail, or you may go horse riding around the park. Please note that the prices quoted below for the main and mini tours are inclusive of the Park entrance fee.

Hourly tours on weekdays:10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00.
Weekend and public holidays hourly tour times are as follows:
10:00, 11:00, 12:00 and 13:00.
It is advisable to phone to confirm the tour times.

Coffee and gift shop
Our coffee shop, The Sivatherium, provides a tasty, home-baked selection of eats. Browse our gift shop where you will find some interesting local crafts and books.
Children's play park and picnic area
The children's play park is situated in a garden area which is also an excellent venue for picnics. You may bring your own, or you may pre-arrange with our coffee shop to provide you with one.
Mountain bike trails
Enjoy the fresh west coast air and take a cycle through the Fossil Park. We have a selection of four trails, ranging from 3.5km to 10km, which are of varying degrees of difficulty. They go through a number of different rehabilitated areas in the Fossil Park and they are an excellent opportunity to experience firsthand our unique west coast flora and fauna.Fees:
- If you bring your own bicycle the cost is R20.00 per person
- Bikes are available for hire at a cost of R60.00 per person for 2½ hours
Walking trails
This self-guided, peaceful walk called The Restoration Trail is 3km long and includes some water bodies where aquatic birds may be spotted, indigenous flora and fauna, a bird hide, and an area where alien vegetation is being monitored by the University of Cape Town Plant Protection Unit to assess the success of using introduced insects to eat the seeds of alien vegetation.Fees:
